The Role of Reading Room Staff in Providing Continuous Information Access for Students of The Faculty of Pharmacy, Andalas University (UNAND)

Background of the study: Knowledge and access to quality scientific information are crucial aspects in supporting students' learning and research processes, especially in the Faculty of Pharmacy environment which is highly dependent on scientific data and reliable reference sources.
Purpose: This article aims to analyze the role of reading room staff in providing sustainable access to information for students of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Andalas University (UNAND).
Method: This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method, where data is collected through observation, in-depth interviews with reading room staff, and students who use the service.
Findings: The results of the study show that reading room staff not only act as collection keepers, but also as active information facilitators in helping students find and use relevant information sources. This role is realized through various services such as literature lending and searching, information literacy training, and managing access to electronic journals and databases.
Conclusion: In conclusion, the presence of competent and proactive reading room staff plays an important role in supporting the achievement of students' academic goals through adaptive and sustainable information services
